If I could prescribe everyone a dose of Amanda I would. As a school we booked Amanda from Re-Defined to do 4 sessions in the lead up to GCSEs.  We chose 5 students who were all experiencing anxiety and stress for different reasons. Amanda did a session with the students educating them on the brain and why we do and react the way we do.  She then focussed on relaxation and strategies to cope.

The feedback from the students was overwhelmingly positive.  One student found me straight away to inform me that she had never felt so relaxed and was delighted to know that she could have some control over her stress levels.  Once the students had attended a couple of sessions with Amanda, I had numerous year 11 students asking if they could attend.

A couple of weeks after the last session, the parents of one young lady contacted me to ask for Amanda’s contact details and have indeed booked private sessions with Amanda since for their daughter.

I will definitely be using Amanda again to work with young people.

I saw Amanda for 4 sessions just before my GCSEs.  I was really worried and didn’t know how I would be able to concentrate and get the best grades.

Amanda taught me how to relax and she gave me tips on what to do when I was feeling stressed.

She also spent one of the sessions teaching me all about my brain and why we do the things we do.

It was really helpful and made a big difference to me when I sat my exams. I also really enjoyed the sessions too!

I have had months of sessions with CAMHs and tried different things to help with my nerves and anxiety.  Nothing worked.  After my very first session with Amanda, I felt different and could really see how to manage my issues.  It all came at a perfect time for my GCSE exams!

Amanda helped my daughter with sleep anxiety and insomnia.  From the first visit, Amanda’s calm and caring nature immediately put my daughter at ease.  The results were very obvious from the beginning as I saw a more relaxed child at bedtime.  Amanda has taught her how to understand and cope with her anxiety, helping her to not only sleep better but to be more confident in challenging situations.  I highly recommend Amanda and particularly so for children.

Life is overwhelming sometimes and when I started attending hypnotherapy sessions with Amanda, I was feeling very low. I always left in a positive frame of mind, sometimes actually feeling quite elated, and after a while started to get a new perspective. I do view things very differently now because Amanda taught me how to put less in my stress bucket!!

Amanda made me feel at ease the moment I met her.  I was a little anxious about what may be involved but Amanda soon reassured me and helped me to relax.  The hypnotherapy has helped me to change my sleeping pattern.  I was experiencing insomnia and felt that I was not getting more than 2 hours sleep ‘in a row’.  After my sessions with Amanda I gradually increased that to 6+ hours and with the added benefit of going off to sleep much much quicker.  I am now able to lay down and not overthink all the worries of the day, which previously would keep me awake.  Two other benefits I feel I have gained (by Amanda helping me to train my brain) is the ability to not worry about everything and not to focus on food through boredom or as an emotional response.
I would recommend Amanda without hesitation.

I just wanted to say thanks for the work you have done with S.  Before her first visit she absolutely did not want to go, she insisted it was going to be terrible and stressful (the opposite of what we were hoping), we stuck to our guns insisting she should go, and trusted in your ability to turn things around. Our trust was well founded, S came back relaxed and calm, she was all hugs and kisses for Mum once again (for organising) and when I asked her it how went she said “it was good thanks- I want to tell you that it was really really good but then you will get all smug so I am not going to do that!” The next morning she was in a hurry to tell us how deeply and satisfyingly she had slept that night – I haven’t heard her say this about a nights sleep for literally years, and for a teenager who has to get up at 06:20 that was a miracle in itself. I wanted to feedback to let you know how successful it was and to say thanks once again.
